Marble David sculpture
The marble david sculpture is a replica of Michelangelo Buonarroti’s sculpture of David and is one of the most famous marble sculptures of the Renaissance period. The original work was started by Michelangelo in 1501 and completed in 1504. It was carved from a whole piece of Carrara white marble and is about 5.17 meters high. It is now housed in the Gallery dell’Accademia in Florence, Italy.
