Production Process

1. 1:1 Clay Modeling This is the crucial step that gives the sculpture its soul. Our professional sculptors hand-carve a 1:1 scale clay mold based on design drawings or photos of your dog. During this stage, we offer unlimited clay mold revisions. You can verify the progress in real-time through multi-angle photos and videos until the dog’s skeletal proportions, muscle lines, and facial expression fully meet your expectations.

2. Mold Making Once the clay model is finalized, a specialized silicone is evenly applied to the surface, supported by a sturdy fiberglass shell. This step guarantees a 100% accurate replication of every single hair and textural detail from the original clay model.

3. Wax Model Creation Liquid paraffin wax is poured into the silicone mold. After cooling, the hollow wax model is removed. Experienced artisans then meticulously refine the wax model in a temperature-controlled environment, smoothing seams and sharpening fine details.

4. Ceramic Shell Building The refined wax model is repeatedly dipped into a mixture of silica sol and quartz sand. After multiple layers of coating and natural air drying, a hard, heat-resistant ceramic shell forms around the exterior of the wax.

5. Lost-Wax Casting The completed ceramic shell is fired in a kiln. The high heat melts the wax inside, allowing it to flow out and leaving a hollow cavity identical to the sculpture’s form. Immediately, premium liquid bronze, melted at over 1200°C, is poured into the cavity.

6. Welding and Chasing After the bronze cools and solidifies, the outer ceramic shell is broken away to reveal the bronze casting. Since large sculptures are typically cast in sections, the pieces must be seamlessly welded together. Artisans then use specialized tools to hand-chase the welds, perfectly restoring the sculpture’s original surface texture.

7. Patina The final surface treatment. Colorists use a high-temperature blowtorch to heat the bronze surface while applying specific chemical reagents. This triggers an oxidation reaction, creating a stable, deep, and richly layered color (such as classic matte black or antique bronze). Finally, a natural protective wax is applied over the entire piece to resist outdoor weathering.
